Khanaliev Visampasha Yusupovich was born on January 20, 1958 in the village of Yangi-Aryk, Karasuu District, Osh Region, Kirghiz SSR. In 1981, he graduated from the Dagestan State Medical Institute. From 1982 to 1984, he worked as the chief phthisiologist for extrapulmonary tuberculosis in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. From 1985 to 1988, he studied in graduate school in phthisiology at the Central Research Institute of Tuberculosis of the USSR (Moscow). From 1988 to 1991, he was an assistant at the Department of Phthisiology at the Dagestan State Medical Institute. In 1990, he defended his PhD thesis. In 1992-2001, he worked as the chief physician of the interdistrict medical and diagnostic center in Khasavyurt, Republic of Dagestan. In 1996, he entered the doctoral program at the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. In 1999, he defended his doctoral dissertation. From 2001 to 2016, he worked as Deputy Director General for Medical Affairs at the N.I. Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center. Since 2016, he has been the head of the Department of Phthisiopulmonology at the Dagestan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Since December 2023, he has appointed rector of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Dagestan State Medical University” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 2 candidate dissertations were defended. V.Yu. Khanaliev is the author of 120 scientific papers, including 14 textbooks and 85 scientific papers.
